The SADDEST GOODBYE To a hero

Jul 20, 2026

I have struggled to find the words to share about the passing of my hero, Dr Edie Eger. How do you begin to capture a spirit so vast, someone who not only endured unimaginable suffering, but transformed it into a legacy of hope, compassion, and courage for so many?

Dr Edie Eger shaped so much of how I see the world, and how I sit with others in their pain. I carry her work into mine every day. She expanded what I believed was possible, not only in healing, but in the human spirit.

I never had the privilege of meeting her in person, but through her online workshops, there were moments it felt as though she was speaking directly to me. Guiding. Challenging. Reminding me of what it means to choose life, even after devastation.

Fly with the angels, my dearest Edie.

May we all carry forward her will, her fight, and her extraordinary kindness. She was an angel on this earth, and now beyond it.

My heart is with her family. A loss like this defies language, but to have known her, to have learned from her, and to have loved her from afar, is a gift I will hold always.

You do not have to navigate this alone.
